ABOUT DANIELLE MARKS
I am a project manager, sustainability professional, and built-environment specialist with experience spanning architecture, electrical operations, construction, engineering coordination, sustainable design, commissioning, and federal projects.

My professional foundation was built through both design and hands-on experience. I began in architecture, then gained practical experience in electrical operations and construction before moving into project management and sustainability. Early work as a work order clerk and participation in an electrical housing cooperative gave me direct exposure to how work is planned, documented, costed, and executed.

That foundation developed into increasingly complex work across public, private, commercial, institutional, military, and community projects—from small community facilities to major federal infrastructure.

My work is grounded in the AION Framework Assessment, Implementation & Operational Navigation - a whole‑system method for strengthening decisions and improving project performance.

WHOLE-SYSTEM APPROACH

I approach projects as interconnected systems rather than isolated components. A building's performance is influenced by its site, infrastructure, materials, energy and water systems, indoor environment, construction methods, cost, operations, and the people who use it.

My role is to understand those relationships and identify opportunities to improve performance while maintaining the project's budget, schedule, constructability, requirements, and purpose.

SUSTAINABILITY & TECHNICAL EXPERIENCE

As an early LEED Accredited Professional, I have applied sustainable design principles throughout planning, design, construction, and operations.

My experience includes LEED certification, energy and water efficiency, stormwater, material resources, indoor environmental quality, commissioning, technical analysis, specifications, value engineering, construction documentation, and multidisciplinary coordination.

I have worked directly with owners, government agencies, architects, engineers, contractors, commissioning authorities, and project teams to translate technical requirements into practical project decisions.

PROJECT MANAGEMENT

My project management experience includes multidisciplinary coordination, federal contracting, construction administration, scheduling, estimating, procurement, change management, specifications, site observations, project documentation, and stakeholder coordination.

I have managed and supported projects ranging from community-scale facilities to major military and institutional infrastructure, working across the full project lifecycle from planning and design through construction and operation.

HOW I WORK

Understand the system.
Connect the pieces.
Identify the opportunity.
Move the project forward.

The objective is not sustainability as an isolated goal. It is better-performing projects—projects that work technically, financially, operationally, environmentally, and for the people who use them.
